drama submission guidelines

thank you for being interested in submitting your dramatic work! patchwork lit mag defines the “drama” genre as a piece of text that is intended to be performed (i.e. a play).

the drama-specific submission guidelines are as follows:

we are looking for drama that is honest and emotion-driven. beyond that, we are excited to see how you can explore the dramatic concept and challenge preconceived notions about the dramatic form. ideal submissions will be pieces that could only exist as drama, but feel free to push the boundaries of what drama means.

  • you may submit a maximum of 20 pages per submission.
  • you must use 12-point, times new roman font (unless changed as a stylistic choice).
  • you may submit an excerpt from a larger work if the larger work exceeds the 20-page requirement. however, you should not submit a 40-page play as two separate, 20-page drama submissions.

to submit, please fill out the google form at the following link:

please fill out a new form for every piece you intend to submit.

we look forward to reading your work!
